About the Anvil Mobile App

Note: All screenshots and directions in this article were created using the Android Mobile App. iOS device displays and settings menus may be different. iPads, of course, will look different as well.

Getting Around in the Mobile App

Anvil applications are available to users on the go. You can perform many of the same actions in the mobile app that are available on the desktop. In addition, there are some features that are only available on mobile.

For instance, the Today item and the People item are mobile-only features. The Today item helps you manage your day by allowing Salesforce access to your phone’s calendar(s). The People item – not to be confused with Contacts – gives you mobile access to other users in your organization.

Important: Anvil apps – Sales, Workflow, etc. – have been customized to help you make the best use of mobile for your role, so some items may be hidden in your app. Sometimes less is more!

  1. Header – Profile, Search and Notifications

From the header you can access your Profile, mobile app Settings, Favorites, and Help. The Mobile Search is similar to the desktop Global Search and also lists your Recent Items. The Notifications bell is the same as on the desktop, showing the number of your unread notifications.

  1. App Launcher, All Items, and Current App Space

Use the App Launcher to switch back and forth between Anvil apps and the Mobile Only app. You may never need to switch, but just in case you do, the other Anvil apps available to you are listed in the App Launcher.
All Items is an alphabetical list of all your mobile items and objects.
Mobile Only displays the default mobile app and view. If you launched a different app from the App Launcher (for instance the Workflow app), that app will show where Mobile Only shows in this image.

  1. Navigation Menu

Tap any item in the navigation menu to access those records. Items that are visible on the desktop are also available in the mobile app. As noted, some mobile-only items are also available from the navigation menu.

  1. Navigation Bar

Except for the Mobile Only app, whose navigation bar items are locked, the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen shows the last four accessed items. As you navigate to different items, the navigation bar items will update. To return to the navigation menu from any screen, tap the Menu icon.

Action Bar

The Action bar, where you can perform quick actions like Log a Call, appears at the top of some items, like Chatter. Click More to reveal more available actions.
