About Tasks

Tasks are a key productivity tool for customer relationship management. In fact, they are so central to helping you manage your day that Salesforce has created an in-app video to help you get the most out of using them. To watch the video, navigate to the Tasks tab. Then click the Help & Training menu and select Use Tasks to Boost Productivity to launch the video. 

Tasks are a great way to keep your personal to-do list scheduled and prioritized. You can also delegate tasks to other people on your team and create tasks from within different objects, like Account or Request records, which will link that record’s data to the task. Linking is very helpful when you need to retrieve that information to complete the task.  

Tasks can include items like “Call”, “Send Quote”, “Send Letter”, “Quote Follow Up”, and so on. Due dates and reminders help you stay on top of your task list. Each task also has a Status, which helps you and your supervisor keep track of where you are in the process of completing the task.  

Info: Tasks and Requests are different database objects. You may have Tasks related to Requests but be sure not to confuse the two!
