About Purchase Orders (POs)

Working with purchase orders (POs) is central to many roles in your dealership. Let’s take a look at how the Purchase Order object is organized and how it connects to other important data in the Anvil CRM and Anvil O2C. Click the Purchase Orders tab and click a PO in your list to get started.  

Beneath the header and Highlights panel at the top of the page, you will see some (or all) of these page sections: 

  1. Tabs for PO details and related data. 
  2. Summary of Requests related to the PO. 
  3. A quick visual guide of PO attributes. If the icon is green, it means those attributes have been applied to this PO record. Attributes can include: 
    1. New – New Equipment 
    2. SI – Sales Incentives 
    3. Att – Attachments 
    4. Used – Used Equipment 
    5. TI – Trade In 
    6. Set – Settlement Complete 

        4.  A Chatter feed related to the posts about the record. 

Note: Your dealership may have opted for a different Purchase Order page layout. One feature that some dealerships have selected is the Create Task Requests panel, which replaces Request task buttons that would otherwise display in the header section. 

Details Tab 

The Details tab contains key details about the PO. Some fields can be edited, and others are read-only because their information is pulled from other areas of the system. For example, from JDQuotes. 

Try It: Click the link in the JDQuote field to open the JDQuote record. Use your browser’s back button to return to the PO. 

The Details tab contains sections for Dealer Comments, Payment Information, Settlement Information, read-only PO information, Purchaser, Customer, Contact, and System Information. Simply scroll down the page to review these sections.  

Tip: To collapse sections on any record page, select the down-arrow. Click again to expand the section: 

Equipment Tab 

 The Equipment tab displays all equipment that has been attached to the PO, including Trade Ins. Hover over the JDQuote Equipment Name to reveal equipment details, or click the link to open the equipment record. 

Use the scroll bar to reveal more information like Category Description. If there is a long list of equipment attached to the PO, click View All to open a table view of all the JDQuote Equipment. 

Attachments Tab 

The Attachments tab displays all JDQuote attachments to the PO. Hover over the JDQuote Attachments Name to show a short summary or click on the name to open the JDQuote Attachments record. 

 Sales Incentives Tab 

The Sales Incentives tab displays all JDQuote sales incentives attached to the PO. Hover over the Sales Incentive name to show a short summary, or click the name to open the record in a new tab. 

Requests Tab 

The Requests tab displays all Requests attached to the PO. Hover over the Request Name to show a short summary, or click the name to open the record in the Requests tab. 

Files Tab 

The Files tab displays all files attached to the PO record. Easily add files that are stored in Anvil CRM or upload files from your device.  

Full PO Details Tab 

The Full PO Details tab is a quick and easy way to view PO details in a new browser tab or to print them. 

PO Equipment Audit Tab 

If a PO has had an equipment audit or requires one, this tab will display the audit information.
