The Easier Button for Managing Used Equipment

Jason Hoult, president of Anvil App Works, and Casey Seymour, Moving Iron Podcast host, discuss what disciplines go into managing used equipment.

Starting off the podcast, Seymour reflects on daily tactics that go on behind the scenes of managing a dealership. When it comes to inventory management and building guidelines for processes he says, “There’s no easy button for getting you going.”

Hoult mentions “You need to start figuring out what is your discipline, what’s your process going to be, and how do you do that on a regular basis.

“Our number one tip is to go through your processes and figure out where you are at. Then, think about what can be changed this year” he says.

Seymour agrees, “When you analyze all the steps you must go through from A-Z, you realize how many of them are redundant to find the same information.”

Hoult says, “Automation gives you that same information but puts it on the same report, you spend more time making decisions and less time digging around and logging into different systems to get the same information.

“Automation isn’t magic. The magic is the logic and processes you put into place. Automation just greases the skids and makes it easier,” he says.
