Predictively Cashing in on Low Hanging Fruit

Jason Hoult, president of Anvil App Works, and Casey Seymour, Moving Iron Podcast host, discuss how dealerships are swimming in data and how to utilize it for success.

Hoult starts off the podcast by mentioning that “Predictive analytics is twenty years’ worth of data gathering, and data history put together. Being able to process that amount of information to get those insights is essential.”

Seymour explains various ways that using data benefits the dealership. “Different scenarios allow the dealer to place the right customer with the right machine at the right time based upon past buying criteria,” he adds.

Using buying patterns allows dealers to develop improved selling strategies. Hoult explains the advantage of looking at “what your data consists of and what insights can be used from it”.

Seymour elaborates “Dealerships admit to wanting to start being much more predictive than reactive.” With these forecasts, dealers are able to define expectations for current and future buying cycles.

Hoult humorously replied, “Don’t wait for the customer to pick up the phone, use the data to know when to get ahead of the game.”
