Making the Order with Order to Cash

Jason Hoult, president of Anvil App Works, and Casey Seymour, Moving Iron Podcast host, discuss how simplifying and automating the purchase order (PO) process brings quotes to settlement faster.

Starting off the podcast, Seymour examines the frustrations that go into finalizing a purchase.

Commenting that he “goes out to the customers, gets the note signed, gets the down payment money, and there’s always something somewhere that’s holding up the deal.”

Seymour asked Hoult about the benefits for dealerships using Order to Cash (O2C). Hoult answered, “A lot of the benefit comes right up front, just from having the system in place. Having your CRM, quoting system and POs all on one system gives you more visibility. And having your documents organized within that PO is a huge milestone.

“But the biggest advantage right off the bat is knowing where in the process each deal is. That visual board we provide gives them the ability to see all their deals. Right at the top of it is how many and how much is in each of those milestones. That is a huge first step.”

Hoult adds that Anvil’s O2C feature also has built-in automation, which helps reduce errors. “I remember when we did the analysis and we figured out that people were entering a serial number 17 different times from when they started their trade evaluation all the way through the JDQuote step and the PO,” he says.

Now, with automation, that serial number is entered once, and the system populates it automatically.

Watch or listen to the podcast to learn how you can use the O2C feature to:

  • Finalize a deal quickly and smoothly with less errors.
  • Digitize your paperwork and archive documents in an easy to search format.
  • Reduce errors. Dealers using O2C have reported up to 30-40% fewer errors.
  • Track information for past and future deals.
  • Lessen the time spent waiting for orders to be completed.
  • Automate requests to team members in the PO pipeline.
